WhatsApp revises privacy policy in Europe

BBC News reports WhatsApp is rewriting its privacy policy in Europe and the U.K. following a 225 million euro fine issued by Ireland’s Data Protection Commission over alleged EU General Data Protection Regulation violations. WhatsApp said the revisions will “add additional detail around our existing practices� and the update “does not change how we process, use or share user data with anyone, including (parent company) Meta, nor does it change how we operate our service.�
