Trulieve Job Applicant Class Seeks Final OK Of Settlement

By Dave Simpson (July 29, 2022, 9:50 PM EDT) — Cannabis company Trulieve has agreed to pay $279 to each member of a class of 1,050 job applicants to end a suit alleging they were fired or had employment offers pulled based on a consumer report, according to a bid for final approval of the deal filed in Florida federal court.

In its unopposed motion, the class said Thursday that the deal is fair because the payout represents 27.9% of the maximum statutory damages award available. In a separate unopposed motion filed in May, the attorneys for the class asked the court to approve $236,500 in fees.
