Senator Asks Apple, Google For Info On Fake Crypto Apps

By Al Barbarino (July 28, 2022, 6:24 PM EDT) — Citing a recent FBI warning about fake crypto apps that have been used to steal millions from investors, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee has asked the heads of Apple and Google to disclose what the tech giants are doing to keep the scams off their app stores.

In letters sent Wednesday to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, asked for details on the review process their companies take before approving crypto apps for their stores.
