New EU-US Data Transfer Pact On Path To Fail, Schrems Says

By Allison Grande (May 24, 2022, 10:14 PM EDT) — Austrian privacy activist and lawyer Max Schrems, who spearheaded the legal challenges that led to the demise of a pair of vital transatlantic data transfer mechanisms, has cautioned European Union and U.S. policymakers that their proposed replacement framework was unlikely to fare any better unless “substantive” changes are made.
