Russia is more active than other countries in organizing cyberattacks in the world, according to Microsoft’s cybersecurity report.
More than half of all state-sponsored cyberattacks detected were carried out from Russia. The conclusion that “Russian hackers” were the most active in the world is contained in a report by Microsoft, excerpts from which were published by the Associated Press.
According to Microsoft experts, Russian hackers were behind 58 per cent of these attacks. It is noted that most often “Russian hackers” attacked the United States, Ukraine, Great Britain and the European states belonging to NATO.
Microsoft experts noted that Russian cybercriminals have seriously increased the percentage of successful attacks – up to 32% in the period from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021.
At the same time, most of the cyber attacks were carried out by the Nobelium group, which Microsoft associates with Russia. The company’s report says Nobelium is responsible for 92% of all threatening activity notifications sent to customers from Russia.
