Meta Blasts Apple App Store Policies In Telecom Comments

By Matthew Perlman (May 27, 2022, 8:24 PM EDT) — Facebook’s parent company Meta Platforms Inc. has told the U.S. Department of Commerce’s telecommunications office that Apple Inc.’s privacy and other policies are making it hard for companies to compete in an “otherwise well-functioning mobile app ecosystem.”

Meta submitted comments to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration on May 23, which the agency published on Thursday, in response to a call for input on the state of competition in the mobile app ecosystem.
