Long Island Woman Stole $4 Million From Employer, Feds Say

By Elliot Weld (August 18, 2022, 2:47 PM EDT) — A Massapequa, New York, woman was charged Tuesday with embezzling about $4 million from her entertainment industry company and its clients in Manhattan in a scheme prosecutors say spanned about seven years.

Carmen “Millie” Miranda, 50, is charged with wire fraud, bank fraud and identity theft. She was an account manager at an unnamed company described by prosecutors as “a small business management firm that primarily serviced clients in the entertainment industry.”
