EU countries agree European Commission will be sole DMA enforcer

Representatives of European Union countries have agreed that the European Commission is the “sole authority empowered to enforce� the EU’s proposed Digital Markets Act, Reuters reports. An agreement will be formally ratified Nov. 25. “In order to support the Commission, member states may empower competent authorities enforcing competition rules to conduct investigative measures into possible infringements of obligations for gatekeepers,� an EU document said.
