Dutch DPA urges Senate to reject Data Processing by Partnerships Act

The Netherlands’ data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, urged the Senate not to adopt the proposed Data Processing by Partnerships Act. The proposal, which has been adopted by the House of Representatives, grants government organizations and private parties broad powers to share personal information. “The bill leaves the door wide open for unlimited surveillance by an unlimited number of parties, public and private,� DPA Chairman Aleid Wolfsen said.
