Customizable search engine launches beta, offers private mode

Startup search engine You.com, which offers a customizable or private search mode for users, launched its beta Tuesday, CNET reports. According to You.com, the search engine won’t sell user data, track user activity or show targeted ads. The search engine presents search results sorted by type of result, such as website, social media platform, images and more, and can be sorted and customized by each user. You.com received $20 million in funding, including backing from Salesforce Chief Executive Officer Marc Benioff.
