Court denies Google’s EU antitrust appeal

The Luxembourg-based General Court denied Google’s appeal to overturn a 2.4 billion euro fine for antitrust violations. The fine was issued over allegations Google favored its search results over those of its rivals. “In view of the fact that the (European) Commission correctly concluded that Google had abused its dominant position on the national markets for specialized product search services, the action must be dismissed,� the court said.
