Android malware targeting South Korean users steals phone data

An Android smartphone malware called PhoneSpy has been targeting South Korean users to monitor and steal phone data, ZDNet reports. The malware seems to gain access through innocuous-looking phishing messages asking for user permission after being tucked into harmless-looking apps and installed. PhoneSpy can track a phone’s location, hijack the microphone and cameras, steal SMS texting and call data, and send other phone data to the malware’s operator.
