In his years as New Zealand’s Privacy Commissioner, John Edwards said he has worked to make privacy easy — for organizations and consumers. Edwards will leave the role to become U.K. Information Commissioner in December. In a wide-ranging conversation with IAPP New Zealand Country Leader Daimhin Warner, CIPP/E, as part of the IAPP ANZ Summit Online 2021, Edwards reflected on his efforts as his tenure in New Zealand comes to an end, the work over the past seven years, the growth of privacy awareness in the country and more.
